Pre-Surgery bootcamp may cut hernia complications

Summary
This study tests whether a structured program of exercise, weight loss, and medical optimization before ventral hernia surgery can reduce complications like infections or pain. About 130 adults with hernias 4-8 cm wide will either join the program or have surgery as usual. Researchers will also check tissue and blood samples to understand how the program affects healing.
