Step up to surgery: daily walking may cut bladder cancer operation risks

NCT ID NCT06806059

First seen May 06, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether walking 8,000 to 10,000 steps each day for four weeks before bladder cancer surgery can lower the chance of problems after the operation. About 146 adults with bladder cancer who are scheduled for surgery will take part. Half will be asked to increase their daily steps using a pedometer, while the other half will follow usual care. The goal is to see if more physical activity before surgery leads to fewer complications, shorter hospital stays, and better quality of life.
