Ambulance blood test could spare thousands from unnecessary hospital trips
NCT ID NCT07563998
First seen May 05, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a portable blood test, done right in the ambulance, can safely identify people with chest pain who are not having a heart attack. About 500 adults with suspected heart symptoms will give a small blood sample during their ambulance ride. The test result won't change their care yet, but researchers will check how well it predicts heart problems within 30 days. If successful, this approach could help avoid unnecessary hospital visits for low-risk patients.
