First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study tests whether placing a heart-lung machine (ECMO) at the scene of a cardiac arrest, instead of waiting until the hospital, can improve survival and brain function. About 100 adults with witnessed cardiac arrest will be included. Researchers will measure how fast ECMO is started and track outcomes like hospital survival and neurological recovery at 30 days and 6 months.
