First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether a 4-week program of high-intensity interval training, specialized nutrition, and psychological support before major gastrointestinal cancer surgery can lower the risk of serious complications afterward. About 400 high-risk patients will be randomly assigned to either this prehabilitation program or standard care. The goal is to see if the program makes patients stronger and more resilient to surgery.
