First seen May 13, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether a special program before surgery—including exercise, nutrition, and health optimization—can reduce serious complications within 30 days after major gastrointestinal cancer surgery. About 400 adults scheduled for such surgery will either receive this prehabilitation program or standard care. The goal is to see if preparing the body beforehand leads to fewer problems and faster recovery.
