Could a Mom's itchy skin signal danger for her Newborn's first breaths?

NCT ID NCT06679972

Summary

This study aims to understand if a specific liver condition in late pregnancy (causing severe itching) increases the risk of serious breathing problems in newborns. Researchers will compare 120 babies: some born to mothers with the condition and some without. The goal is to see if substances called bile acids from the mother might harm the baby's lungs, helping doctors better predict and care for at-risk infants.
