Simple blood test may forecast surgery complications
NCT ID NCT07306845
First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at whether measuring carbon dioxide and oxygen levels in the blood can help predict problems after Whipple surgery, a complex operation on the pancreas and nearby organs. Researchers will track 120 adults having this surgery to see if certain blood gas ratios give earlier warnings of complications like leaks or delayed stomach emptying. The goal is to find a better way to monitor patients and improve recovery.
