New blood test could warn surgeons of trouble during risky cancer operation
NCT ID NCT07306845
Summary
This study aims to find better ways to predict complications after a complex abdominal surgery called a Whipple procedure. Researchers will measure specific gases and lactate in the blood of 120 patients during surgery to see if these readings can warn doctors about problems like leaks or organ failure sooner than current methods. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to earlier interventions and better patient recovery.
