Summary

This study aimed to find the best scoring system for predicting complications and death after surgery for gastrointestinal cancers like stomach or colon cancer. Researchers followed 120 adult patients having planned open surgery to see how well five different risk calculators performed. The goal was to help doctors better identify high-risk patients before surgery to improve their care planning and safety.
