Simple scan could warn doctors of anesthesia danger before surgery

NCT ID NCT07488182

Summary

This study aims to see if a quick, non-invasive ultrasound scan of the neck artery, done before surgery, can help predict which patients will have a dangerous drop in blood pressure when they are put under general anesthesia. Researchers will perform the scan on 110 adults having planned, non-heart surgery and see if the measurements are linked to blood pressure problems. The goal is to help doctors identify at-risk patients earlier so they can take steps to prevent complications and improve safety.
