Doctors search for clues to spot dangerous gut infections
NCT ID NCT07322926
Summary
This study looked back at 101 patients with diverticulitis, a painful gut infection, to see if common blood tests taken in the emergency room could help tell apart simple cases from severe, complicated ones. Researchers compared lab results like white blood cell count and inflammation markers between the two groups. The goal was to find better ways to quickly identify patients who might need more intensive treatment.
