New test using stomach fluid may predict breathing trouble in babies

Summary

This study looks at stomach fluid from newborns to see if it can predict which babies will need breathing support for more than 6 hours. Researchers will collect fluid during routine care and use a special algorithm to make predictions. The goal is to improve early detection of respiratory distress in babies born at 32 weeks or later.
