First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tests whether a new type of ECG (called wavECG) can better predict who will develop atrial fibrillation after open-heart surgery. Researchers will follow 353 adults having their first open-heart surgery, using wavECG, standard ECG, and echocardiograms. The goal is to improve prediction and eventually help prevent this common complication.
