Doctors develop calculator to foresee breathing risks in surgery
NCT ID NCT06376123
Summary
This study aimed to create a prediction tool (called a nomogram) to estimate how much a patient's blood oxygen levels might drop during a specific type of lung surgery where only one lung is used for breathing. Researchers collected routine pre-surgery health data from 40 patients to see if they could forecast this oxygen drop. The goal was to help anesthesiologists anticipate and better manage this common risk to improve patient safety during the operation.
