New study aims to predict dangerous outcomes after lung blood clots
NCT ID NCT05481242
First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looked back at the medical records of 2000 adults who had a blood clot in their lungs (pulmonary embolism). The goal was to find patterns in lab tests and CT scans that could help predict if a patient would have a serious complication, like needing a breathing tube or dying, within 30 days of being admitted to the hospital. The researchers hope this will help doctors identify high-risk patients earlier.
