MRI scans reveal who Won't get relief from common neck pain shot
NCT ID NCT07476235
Summary
This study looked back at 90 patients with neck and arm pain from a pinched nerve who received a stellate ganglion block (SGB) injection. Researchers wanted to see if MRI scans taken before the procedure could predict who would get good pain relief. They found that patients with significant muscle wasting (fatty changes) in the neck or nerve pinching caused by bone spurs were less likely to benefit from the injection three months later.
