Scientists hunt for clues to predict crippling arm swelling in breast cancer survivors

NCT ID NCT07252843

Summary

This study aimed to create a tool to predict which breast cancer patients might develop painful arm swelling (lymphedema) after lymph node removal surgery. Researchers followed 133 patients, collecting tissue and blood samples during surgery to look for biological markers linked to higher risk. The goal was to identify high-risk patients early so they could receive closer monitoring and preventive care.
