Simple bed test could warn doctors of dangerous blood pressure drops in C-Sections

NCT ID NCT05133271

Summary

This study aimed to see if a simple bedside test could help predict a common and serious side effect of spinal anesthesia for cesarean sections. Researchers tested 64 pregnant women scheduled for C-sections by raising their legs before surgery to check their body's fluid status. The goal was to see if this 'passive leg raise' test could identify which women were more likely to experience a dangerous drop in blood pressure after receiving spinal anesthesia.
