First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a simple ultrasound of the carotid artery in the neck can predict dangerous drops in blood pressure after anesthesia is given. Researchers will measure blood flow in the artery before surgery in 35 adults with chronic liver disease. The goal is to find a cutoff value that helps doctors identify who is at risk, so they can take steps to prevent complications.
