Simple finger test could warn doctors of dangerous blood pressure drops during surgery
NCT ID NCT07279805
Summary
This study tested whether a simple, non-invasive finger monitor (called the peripheral perfusion index) could predict which patients would experience a dangerous drop in blood pressure after receiving spinal anesthesia for leg surgery. Researchers observed 40 healthy adults undergoing elective lower limb procedures. The goal was to see if this quick measurement could help doctors identify at-risk patients before the problem occurs, allowing for better preparation and safer care.
