Simple scan could warn doctors of dangerous blood pressure drops during surgery

NCT ID NCT06479512

Summary

This study aimed to see if two simple measurements could predict a dangerous drop in blood pressure after spinal anesthesia. Researchers studied 200 patients over 60 having leg surgery. They used an ultrasound to measure a blood vessel ratio and a finger sensor to measure blood flow, checking if these could warn doctors before a patient's blood pressure fell.
