Quick neck scan may predict dangerous blood pressure drop during surgery
NCT ID NCT07488182
First seen Mar 27, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a simple, non-invasive neck ultrasound done before surgery can help predict if a patient will experience dangerously low blood pressure after receiving anesthesia. Researchers will measure blood flow in the carotid artery and compare it to blood pressure changes during surgery in 110 adults. The goal is to find a better way to identify at-risk patients and improve their care.
