Swab test aims to forecast superbug threat in hospital ICU
NCT ID NCT07345923
Summary
This study aims to see if a simple rectal swab test can predict which intensive care unit (ICU) patients are at risk of developing serious infections from antibiotic-resistant bacteria. It will enroll 1000 adult patients in a French hospital ICU. The main goal is to measure how well a negative swab result can reassure doctors that a patient is unlikely to get this type of infection.
