Lung ultrasound may help doctors give fluids more precisely in the ICU

NCT ID NCT07202637

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study looks at whether measuring blood flow in the lungs using ultrasound can predict if a critically ill patient will benefit from extra fluids. About 205 ICU patients with suspected low blood volume will be tested. The goal is to find a reliable way to guide fluid treatment, especially when standard heart ultrasound views are hard to get.
