Can a Baby's mouth reflexes predict future feeding struggles?

NCT ID NCT07495709

Summary

This study aims to understand if a very premature baby's reactions to gentle mouth and face touches can help predict feeding problems weeks later. Researchers will observe about 80 babies born extremely early to see if their early reflexes are linked to how well they can eat by bottle or breast. The goal is to create a tool to spot potential feeding issues sooner, so care teams can provide better support.
