Doctors test ultrasound to stop dangerous blood pressure plunges during ICU dialysis
NCT ID NCT07397663
Summary
This study aims to see if ultrasound scans of the heart and blood vessels can predict which critically ill patients will experience a dangerous drop in blood pressure when they start a specific type of dialysis. Researchers will observe 80 adult patients in the intensive care unit who need this dialysis treatment. They will use ultrasound measurements taken right before dialysis starts to try and forecast which patients will need extra fluids or blood pressure support.
