Neck scan could warn doctors of anesthesia danger before it happens

NCT ID NCT07370103

Summary

This study aims to see if a simple ultrasound scan of the neck artery can predict which patients with chronic liver disease will experience a dangerous drop in blood pressure right after they are put under general anesthesia. Researchers will scan 35 adult patients before surgery and then closely monitor their blood pressure during and after anesthesia. The goal is to find a warning sign so doctors can prepare and prevent this common complication.
