A simple breath test to spot anesthesia danger in seniors?
NCT ID NCT07166562
Summary
This study aims to find a better way to predict a dangerous drop in blood pressure when elderly patients are put under general anesthesia. Researchers will observe 86 patients aged 65 and older during elective surgery. They will measure changes in blood pressure while patients take a deep, forced breath to see if this signal can warn doctors of risk before it happens.
