Finger clip could warn doctors before anesthesia danger strikes

NCT ID NCT07458893

Summary

This study aims to see if a simple finger sensor can predict a dangerous drop in blood pressure when patients go under anesthesia for a throat exam. Researchers will monitor 110 adults having this procedure to see if readings from the sensor taken right before anesthesia can warn doctors about who is at risk. The goal is to gather knowledge to help doctors prevent this common complication by spotting it early.
