Neck scan may warn doctors of anesthesia danger before cancer surgery

NCT ID NCT07385274

Summary

This study aimed to see if a simple, non-invasive neck ultrasound could help predict which patients might experience a dangerous drop in blood pressure right after receiving anesthesia for gynecologic cancer surgery. Researchers performed the ultrasound on 91 adult women before their surgery and then monitored their blood pressure after anesthesia. The goal was to find a way to identify high-risk patients ahead of time to improve their safety during surgery.
