Computer vs. calculator: race to save kids from antibiotic side effects

NCT ID NCT04666948

Summary

This study tested whether a bedside computer program could help doctors dose a powerful antibiotic (vancomycin) more precisely for critically ill children. It compared the program to the standard dosing method to see if it helped children reach the right drug level faster, reduced kidney side effects, and led to quicker recovery. Over 300 children in intensive care units participated.
