Can a simple blood test pattern predict survival in the ICU?

NCT ID NCT07414160

Summary

This study aims to learn if tracking changes in a blood protein called prealbumin over time can help doctors better understand the health and recovery of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Researchers will observe 500 adult ICU patients to see if specific patterns in this protein level are linked to patient survival, length of hospital stay, and how well they respond to nutritional support. The goal is to gather knowledge that could one day help improve how nutrition is managed for very sick patients.
