Summary

This study looks at whether lowering the amount of liquid food given through a feeding tube before turning a patient onto their stomach (prone position) can reduce stomach problems in adults with severe lung failure (ARDS) on breathing machines. About 259 ICU patients will be randomly assigned to either receive less food before being turned or to continue their usual feeding. The main goal is to see if this change lowers the risk of food backing up in the stomach.
