New program aims to get patients 'Surgery-Ready' while on waitlist
NCT ID NCT06575621
Summary
This pilot study is testing a new support program for people waiting for hip or knee replacement surgery in Nova Scotia. The program aims to identify and improve health factors, like fitness and blood sugar, that could affect surgery results. About 50 participants will receive education, medical guidance, and optional exercise classes while they wait, to see if this approach is practical and helps them be better prepared for their operation.
