Could a simple Pre-Surgery drink shorten hospital stays?

NCT ID NCT04962776

Summary

This study is testing if a special drink given before surgery helps patients recover faster. Women scheduled for open gynecological surgery will receive either a standard carbohydrate drink or one with added nitrates. Researchers will measure if the nitrate drink helps reduce the body's stress response to surgery and shortens the time spent in the hospital.
