Major trial aims to stop colon Cancer's return with Pre-Surgery chemo

NCT ID NCT03426904

Summary

This large study is testing if giving chemotherapy before surgery is better than the usual approach of giving it after surgery for people with locally advanced colon cancer. The goal is to see if this 'pre-surgery' chemo can kill hidden cancer cells earlier, potentially preventing the cancer from coming back and helping patients live longer. Over 700 patients are being randomly assigned to receive chemo either before or after their operation to compare the results.
