First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 24 times
Summary
This study looked at whether injecting botulinum toxin (Botox) into the side belly muscles before large hernia repair surgery can improve breathing. 30 adults with large hernias had their lung function tested before and after the injections. The goal was to see if the temporary muscle relaxation from Botox helps the lungs work better during recovery.
