Numbing before drilling: could a simple shot cut anesthesia use and carbon footprint in Kids' dental surgery?
NCT ID NCT07608900
First seen Jun 04, 2026 · Last updated Jun 09, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving children a local anesthetic (numbing shot) before dental work under general anesthesia can lower the amount of sevoflurane gas needed. About 80 children aged 4 to 12 will be split into two groups: one gets the numbing shot, the other does not. Researchers will measure gas use, recovery time, and the environmental impact. The goal is to see if this simple step can make anesthesia safer and greener.
