NCT ID NCT07470242
First seen May 08, 2026 ยท Last updated May 08, 2026
Summary
This study looked at whether rinsing the nose with povidone-iodine (a common antiseptic) after sinus surgery helps people with chronic sinusitis recover better. 48 adults were randomly assigned to use either normal saline, mucomyst, or diluted povidone-iodine rinses for three months. The goal was to see which rinse improved symptoms and healing the most, while also checking for any hearing side effects.
