Scientists probe mysterious heart condition affecting young adults

NCT ID NCT00608725

Summary

This study aims to understand the underlying causes of orthostatic intolerance, particularly Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS), which causes symptoms like rapid heartbeat, dizziness, and fatigue when standing. Researchers are conducting detailed cardiovascular tests on 260 participants to identify different biological mechanisms that might trigger this condition. The goal is to gather knowledge that could eventually lead to better treatments, though this study itself doesn't test any new therapies.
