Summary

This completed Phase 3 trial tested whether a 60-hour intravenous infusion of an experimental drug, SAGE-547, could reduce depressive symptoms in women with moderate to severe postpartum depression. The study involved 108 women who were within six months of giving birth and compared the drug's effects against a placebo. The main goal was to see if the treatment led to a meaningful decrease in depression scores shortly after the infusion ended.
