Simple postcard mailed to veterans helps keep heart devices online

NCT ID NCT07477964

Summary

This study tested whether mailing a simple informational postcard could help patients reconnect their home heart device monitors after they became disconnected. It involved over 1,300 veterans with pacemakers, defibrillators, or heart monitors. Researchers randomly sent some patients a postcard reminding them about the importance of remote monitoring and how to fix the connection, while others did not receive one, to see which group reconnected faster.
