Gut health boost tested to tame cancer drug side effects
NCT ID NCT07485296
Summary
This study is testing whether a postbiotic supplement can help patients with advanced head and neck cancer better tolerate their immunotherapy treatment. Forty-five patients receiving standard pembrolizumab will be randomly assigned to also take either the postbiotic or a placebo for four cycles. Researchers will check if the supplement changes gut bacteria, reduces treatment side effects, and influences the immune system.
