Protein boost for new moms in ICU aims to speed recovery
NCT ID NCT06164301
Summary
This study tested whether giving a special, easy-to-digest protein drink soon after surgery helps critically ill mothers who had a C-section. Researchers compared mothers who received the drink within hours of surgery to those who followed the standard protocol of waiting for normal bowel function before eating. The goal was to see if the early protein helped mothers meet their nutrition needs and improved their recovery experience.
