Summary
This study looked at whether rinsing the mouth with water after abdominal surgery helps reduce thirst discomfort and improve comfort and bowel movements. 98 adults who had elective abdominal surgery took part. Half rinsed their mouths with water after surgery, while the other half did not. The results showed that oral rinsing can help ease thirst and improve comfort after surgery.
