NCT ID NCT07575490

First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tests whether a structured 6-week exercise program, starting 6 weeks after a cesarean section, can help close the gap in abdominal muscles (diastasis recti) and improve pelvic blood flow and sexual function. 120 first-time mothers will be randomly assigned to either the exercise program or standard postpartum care. Researchers will use ultrasound to measure changes and a questionnaire to assess sexual health.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance
structured abdomino-pelvic power-training program (exercise)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could offer a simple, drug-free way to improve physical recovery and sexual well-being after cesarean section.
What could go wrong
This is a small, early-stage trial with only 120 participants. The exercise program may not work better than standard care, and results may not apply to all women.
