New study explores stenting for blocked veins in cancer patients

Summary

This study looks at how safe and helpful a procedure called portal vein stenting is for people with gastrointestinal cancer who have a narrowed portal vein. Researchers will track how long the stent keeps the vein open and how it affects patients' overall health, nutrition, and quality of life. About 150 participants will be enrolled at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
