Which cut hurts less? study tests two ways to place chest ports

NCT ID NCT06766656

Summary

This study aims to find out if the direction of the skin cut (across or along the chest) makes a difference in pain and comfort for people getting a small medical port implanted under their skin. The port provides long-term access to a vein for treatments like chemotherapy. Researchers will compare pain levels in the first day and comfort one week later between the two cut directions in 200 patients.
