Can a simple nerve block cut opioid use after achilles surgery?

Summary

This study looks at whether a popliteal nerve block (a numbing injection behind the knee) can better control pain and reduce the need for strong painkillers after surgery to repair a torn Achilles tendon. About 80 adults having this surgery will be randomly assigned to get either the nerve block or a placebo, along with standard pain medicine. Researchers will track pain levels, opioid use, and any nerve-related symptoms during recovery.
